Surface Grinding

Surface Grinding involves feeding the workpiece into the grinding wheel to produce flat parts or those with various forms.  This can be accomplished through number of reciprocating, downfeed, and crossfeed steps or in a single pass operation known as “Creepfeed Grinding”.

Superabrasive and Conventional Wheels are widely used in Surface Grinding applications of all types and on a multitude of materials. South Bay has helped develop a number of specifications for traditional “Reciprocating Surface Grinding”.  We offer some of these standards from our inventory.  In addition, custom specifications and wheel geometries can be manufactured to meet your requirements.  Wherever they can be introduced and utilized, “Superabrasives” will pay big dividends with respect to process control, overall part quality, and cost.
