Resin Bond

Phenolic Resin Bonds are the most versatile and widely used bond systems for Superabrasive grinding.  The Resin Bond Wheels can be utilized in a vast array of geometries and applications.  These bonds can range from very soft and free cutting to tough “High Temperature” varieties.  Polyimide (Thermoplastic) bonds are also available in the resin category and are well known for their toughness and resistance to heat.

SBS offers a complete range of very versatile resin bond systems and crystal configurations designed to have relatively “free cutting” and “self-dressing” characteristics in both wet and dry applications.  We do recommend the use of coolant whenever possible to promote better tool life and reduced risk of thermal damage.

We have developed a number of Resin Bond and Superabrasive crystal combinations for our own label and stock many of these for OD, Surface and general Tool Room work.  We can create custom geometries and specifications for you as well.  With almost unlimited combinations of Resin Bond Systems and Superabrasive materials available, we are able to engineer products specifically to the application.
